Allan Arcilla is a Sydney-based contemporary figurative painter. Predominantly self-taught, his practice centres on the human figure as a site of emotional truth, vulnerability, and self-reflection. Working primarily in oil painting and life drawing, Arcilla explores moments of stillness and intimacy, presenting figures in quiet, suspended states. Through a restrained use of colour and line, his work invites recognition rather than narrative — reflecting on identity, change, and the ongoing process of becoming comfortable in one’s own skin.
